Together with volunteers she was offering psychological treatment to the patients during their rehabilitation. Our soldiers do need heart-felt care and attention. She considers music and art to be the most suitable psychological remedy. Hence she approached those artists whom she knew in person or some acquaintances in common. Real stars of the local caliber gathered at the concert. Performing before the wounded in his irresistablr manly manner was rock singer Viacheslav Sinchuk, who is also a composer and guitar player from Lviv, ex-leader of the bands “Red Poppies”, “Cruise”, “Galaxy”. For some period of time he performed in the USA. In 1996 according to the survey conducted by the l New Metal journa Viacheslav Sinchuk occupied the 8th place in the list of the best rock singers in the world.
Journalist Natalka Samsonova, People's Artist of Ukraine performed in front of the soldiers in the same genre The song "The Black Embroidered Shirt" from the album with the same title was met very emotionally by everyone in the audience. There were also songs of other singers. Natalka Karpa, Honoured Artist of Ukraine, cheered everybody up with her positive hit "he Snowball Tree" (Kalyna). And Mariya Krumshyn, who is better known by her stage name Mia, performed several of her popular songs in jazz arrangements.
Still, everybody was literally left mesmerized by the American singer of Ukrainian origin Sanna – Oksana Sharanevych. The girl lives in Ohio and since the beginning of the Revolution of Dignity she has been very actively supporting Maidan staying in Kyiv. She says she is going to move to Ukraine and live here permanently. The young singer performed for the soldiers the songs, the texts to which were written by her father Petro, who is the leader of Ukrainian Cossacks in the USA and Canadian.
The girl says “When Maidan began in Ukraine, when people started to defend their freedom I realized that my place was in the historical Motherland. Now Ukraine is fighting for its freedom. Ukrainians in the USA and Canada are all the time trying to raise money and send it to the volunteers for purchasing everything necessary for the soldiers and officers who fight against the Russian mercenaries in Donbas. There are many people who would like to come back to help develop Ukraine. I have the same intentions. I consider Ukrainian men to be real warriors. I have never seen more manly and courageous people.”
The concert for the injured fighters didn’t last long, only for about an hour. Nevertheless, during this time the musicians did succeed in creating a very positive atmosphere in the hall and encourage the servicemen. The artists also congratulated several people from the audience on their birthday presenting the soldiers with books to read and the CDs with their music.
The patients of our hospital were expressing their emotions rather discreetly but it was obvious that they enjoyed the concert a lot. Therefore, there was a decision to continue this initiative in other medical institutions which are the part of the Military Clinical Hospital of the Western Operational Command.
